Protection Against Fire & Smoke
Commercial Fire Alarms: Glasgow & Across Scotland
We specialise in commercial fire alarms. As a BAFE SP203 registered company, we have been assisting businesses in Glasgow & across Scotland with the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems. Please follow this link to view our accreditations.
Based in Glasgow, we work with a wide range of commercial clients in Scotland & across Northern England. Our domestic team works more locally, supplying & installing interlinked smoke alarms in Glasgow homes.
Ensuring your business complies with Scottish fire safety legislation is crucial for the safety of your premises and staff. Scottish fire safety legislation requires all businesses to implement appropriate fire safety measures.
The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 set out the duties and responsibilities for employers, including conducting a fire risk assessment, installing and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems, and ensuring staff are trained in fire safety procedures. Failure to comply can result in severe penalties, including fines and legal action.

The Right Fire Alarm System For All Premises
Fire Alarm Categories For Businesses
Category M (Manual Systems)
These are manual fire alarm systems that rely on individuals to activate the alarm via call points. They do not have automatic detectors and are typically used in smaller buildings where a human presence is constant.
L1 Fire Alarm Systems
L1 is the highest level of fire protection available. L1 fire alarm systems have detectors installed in all areas of a building, including every room and void. This is to ensure maximum coverage and the earliest possible warning of a fire.
L2 Fire Alarm Systems
L2 fire alarm systems provide automatic fire detection on escape routes and in rooms adjoining escape routes. Additionally, high-risk areas are also covered. L2 fire alarms are designed to enhance the safety of occupants by ensuring early detection along critical paths.
L3 Fire Alarm Systems
L3 fire alarm systems cover escape routes and areas that open directly onto escape routes. The primary aim of an L3 fire alarm is to ensure that everyone in the building can evacuate safely by detecting a fire before it can impede escape routes.
L4 Fire Alarm Systems
L4 fire alarm systems focus on providing detection along escape routes such as corridors and stairways. L4 fire alarms are intended to protect the routes that occupants will use to exit the building in an emergency.
L5 Alarm Systems
L5 is a custom category where fire protection is provided for specific areas identified as high risk by a fire risk assessment. L5 fire alarm systems are designed based on the unique needs and risks of a particular building.
Category P1
P1 fire alarm systems are designed to protect the entire building. They are intended to ensure that a fire is detected at the earliest possible stage to minimize the risk of damage to the property and contents.
Category P2
P2 fire alarm systems provide fire detection in specific parts of a building that are considered high risk or of high value. They are focused on protecting key areas that, if affected by fire, would result in significant loss or disruption.
Total Fire Alarm Solutions
All Fire Alarms Fitted
There are various types of fire alarm systems, each suited to different environments and needs. We can give guidance on the best options for your premises.
Conventional Fire Alarm Systems
Divide the building into zones, with detectors wired on separate circuits.
Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
Each detector has a unique address, allowing precise identification of the fire location.
Wireless Fire Alarm Systems
Offer flexibility and reduced installation time, ideal for listed or complex buildings.
Multi-Criteria Fire Alarms
Use multiple sensors to detect smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide, reducing false alarms.
VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) Systems
VESDA systems are highly sensitive smoke detectors that continuously draw air samples through a network of pipes to detect the presence of smoke at the earliest possible stage. These systems are ideal for environments where early detection is critical, such as data centres, clean rooms, life sciences and museums. VESDA systems offer the advantage of detecting fires before they escalate, allowing for early intervention and minimising potential damage.
